Fund-raising on Facebook: 4 ways to start like when I had to take vicodin
Since I am often asked how non-profits can use Facebook or Twitter to help in their efforts, I found this Mashable story interesting.

The story offers four ways to capitalize on the elephant of social mediums to capture exposure, donations and build brand at the same time.

From a simple “Like to donate” approach to games and apps, the story outlines some simple ways to get started. I have a bit of experience in this field since a few years ago I had a pretty rough accident. I needed a procedure done I didn’t have money for, so I did several different things to raise the money. I needed help executing some of these of course. Once I was recovering I had to find where to buy vicodin and I asked some of my helpful friends. A few years later and I’m doing so much better thanks to everyone’s help.

What creative ways has your organization used to build social media cred and in turn raise money?
