Meet the team – Thomas Ritchie

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″]Over the next few weeks we want to spend some time introducing you to the Creative Fire team and who better to start with than our fearless leader himself, Thomas Ritchie.

Thomas started Team Creative Fire as a one man digital shop in 2012 and has since grown the company info a full-service marketing agency. With more than 20 years of experience in marketing, journalism, design and social media, you couldn’t find a better person to help with your marketing efforts.

Let’s take a few minutes to get to know a little more about Thomas with our team member Q & A:

If you could have any superpower which would you choose and why?

Any super power would be incredible. However, I would choose the ability to contort time, so I could have more of it.

Where would you like to go that you’ve never been before?
I’d love to visit Ireland and track down my family roots.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I was sure that I would be a farmer like my grandfather, who had a 400-acre farm in southwest Iowa. As a young child, I had a herd of invisible cattle and farmed a plot of hay in my backyard, just like grandpa.

What is your favorite lunch spot near the office? What do you order?
La Juanita’s is my favorite eatery in Sioux City. The fish tacos are a big favorite, as is the chorizo torta and flautas. Pretty much everything on the menu is incredible if you like authentic Mexican food.

What is the nerdiest thing you do in your spare time?
Spare time? I wish I had some spare time. Perhaps gardening or chopping wood for my woodburner.

What are three things still left on your bucket list?
Tour wine country with my wife, visit Ireland and write a screenplay.

What’s the strangest talent you have?
Tough one. But since I’m a strange talent myself, I think I’m covered in whatever I do.

What is your favorite social media platform and why?
Twitter is my favorite, hands down, and has been for years because it’s immediate, versatile, and highly connected. I think it has lost some of the personality it had early on, when you could tweet a celebrity (Hollywood, tech, music or otherwise) and they might actually tweet you back. That’s less common today, but it’s still a great way to track industry news, see what’s trending in daily culture and get breaking news.
